Are you looking for a full service landscape company that has the training to design and the landscaping professionals to install it? Here are a few suggested questions you should ask any landscaping companies you interview before you hire them.
Do they have insurance and are they bonded?
This is a question you should ask before you let anyone begin any type of work on your home. This is especially important for people like landscapers who may be lifting heavy equipment, plants, trees, etc. on your property. You want to make sure that you are protected from any damage or injury. Always ask to see a copy of their insurance and bond. If they refuse, do not use them.
Find out how long they have been in business.
Do not be afraid to ask them how long they have been in business. Most companies that have the experience to handle large projects will have a website, an office, a design team and several crews to handle their volume of clients.
Ask if they have specialists on staff.
Do they mostly handle plantings, sod and lawn care or do they have an arborist that is trained in dealing with trees or a horticulturist that can select the proper placement of plants for your specific growing region.
Ask for references and a design plan.
It is always nice to see photos of their completed projects to help you see their quality of work and get design ideas. As the designer is working on your project, ask to see a copy of it so you can envision what they are planning to make sure it fits with what you want. Make sure you are all on the same page before work begins.
Are there any guarantees offered?
Most reputable full service landscaping companies offer between a 2 to 5 year guarantee on their work. You will also want to check about any guarantees for plantings, trees, etc. If no guarantee is offered, you may want to keep looking.
